Visiting our son and fiancée was a change of pace. We spent a couple of nights boondocking on someone’s driveway in the middle of a lovely quiet neighborhood in Lakewood, about 15 minutes from Samuel’s apartment. We all enjoyed a walk around a local lake together, and saw so many rabbits!

We visited their wedding venue in Estes Park. Janet and I enjoyed the views while Kylie busily worked out lots of details for the big day, knowing that the following ten months will go very quickly. Samuel behaved appropriately groomly, agreeing when necessary!

After two nights in Lakewood, we moved to the RV park in the middle of Golden. It is perfectly located, right in the middle of town by Clear Creek.

The location was fantastic. We were right underneath the prominent hillside “M” for Mines, Samuel’s school.

It was peaceful walking along Clear Creek in the early morning.

We even had geese living around the reservoir right behind our camping spot.

The apple tree by our camping spot seemed like a great idea and we enjoyed feeding some to the geese. However, we learned that they fell, so parking underneath wasn’t wise, especially when a squirrel is encouraging the apples to drop!

The campground was small with only 25 sites that they had crammed in. So we were very close to our neighbors, which excited Saydee more than we like!

During the day’s blistering heat, the river was jam-packed with tubers cooling off, which changed the vibe from the quiet early mornings.

We were thankful that we’d been able to spend time with Samuel and Kylie, and hosting them for dinner in Arvan! It was fun to have stayed in the center of Golden.
