We completed our fourth day of driving east from the Flat Tops Wilderness in Colorado to a Harvest Host in Kentucky near Cincinnati. It was over 1000 miles as the crow flies, further than the complete length of Britain, over 5% of going all around the earth at 37 degrees North, and crossing two time zones. We were very happy with our destination which was a farm.
Today’s journey was smooth. Around St. Louis, we crossed the Missouri and Mississippi rivers and spotted the Gateway Arch National Park.
From the state of Missouri, we passed through Illinois and Indiana, and came close to Ohio, before arriving in Kentucky. We had chosen to check out the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter on our way to see Bailey and Jett, taking us about 300 miles north of them. So we arrived at the Benton Family Farm Harvest Host where we just had a lot of fun with all of the animals. Saydee loved the open space and all the smells, but she does not know how to make friends. Fortunately, most of the farm animals just ignored her barking!
It was fun taking photos at the farm. I could have hung out there all day, especially in the mornings, but we had things to do. I need to plan more “zero” days on our next trip!
