Immediately after graduating from uni/college in 1990, I was fortunate to undertake a grand adventure to Venezuela. I participated in a botanical survey of a new national park, hiked as high as I have ever hiked in the Andes, and explored one of the least explored areas on the planet which is home to the highest waterfall in the world Angel Falls. My notes were included in future guidebooks. The turnaround point in the final hike was the turnaround point in my life, transitioning from student to young professional.
