TN Days 10 & 11 – Good Bye Nashville Until Next Time

Our final day in Nashville was just some chill visiting. We went to a fine Farmer’s Market, which I forgot to photograph… The girls loved browsing the stalls, with not too much buying! Then we headed to check out the TN State Capitol and a Parthenon replica.

It was a beautiful day, and this was located right next to the Nashville Farmers’ Market
The view along the Bicentennial Mall, commemorating the 200 years of Tennessee on June 1, 1996.
Nashville built a life-size replica of the Greek Parthenon in 1897 to commemorate 100 years of statehood. Perhaps this is indicating we should go to Greece? Well….
These are the cicadas that make so much noise. And when they are flying, they scare the girls silly! 😎

We spent the afternoon playing dominoes and Bailey and Jett went to a wedding south of Nashville. After a full 10 days, I was ready for a relaxed day. Also, we’d agreed that leaving at 3 am for the 12-hour drive home was best, so it was time to pack! Our travel day was soon upon us and we hit the road.

There were mixed feelings about being back in Texas. We were tired after a fine vacation but we could immediately tell we were returning to heat and humidity. Jett suggested we just turn around and go back to Nashville! It’s always good to come home and Houston is home – for now…
The power was still out for much of Houston on our return. The above map showed when power was likely to be restored. However, it doesn’t show that our area is out of power! We were more than thankful to have our backup generator, though it struggled at first to cool the house. Centerpoint tell me that we should have power restored by the end of today – yippee!
