The vibe in Nashville compared to Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg is so different. While the Tennessee accent still prevails and there are crowds of tourists, Nashville seems classier. There are probably better adjectives but they don’t come to mind yet.
After checking out of our AirbnB, we grabbed breakfast in Pigeon Forge. Research led us to Mama’s Farmhouse for breakfast. The reviews were good and we arrived when it opened at 8am, but we had missed that it was an all-you-can-eat place, which we normally avoid. They had an extensive menu and explained that they bring out everything on it! It worked well and we all tried most things, setting us up well for our 3.5 hour drive to Nashville.

We arrived in Nashville at about noon and had some time to kill as we could not get into our AirBnB until 4pm. We had a scavenger hunt game that took us to many of the cool downtown music sites and along the bustling Broadway before finishing at the Cumberland River.

For lunch we had to try some Nashville Hot Chicken. We gave it mixed reviews, but I think we did not want the fried food after the travel.

With more time to kill, we headed to the suburb town of Franklin which Jett wisely wanted to see. The town had an even cooler vibe and we checked out a great coffee shop in a former house before driving along a section of the Old Natchez Trace. All very cool, but I forgot to take any photos. I think we were all tired, and then we hit some heavy traffic as we headed toward our Airbnb in East Nashville. It was a relatively uneventful evening so I will keep it short today, as tomorrow looks full!
