Hawaii – Day 4

It was time for a hike! We headed out at 7:30 for a 30-minute drive to the Hau’ula loop around the northern tip of the island. We waited out a short rain shower and headed off up the mountain.

It was a 3 mile loop through a large variety of vegetation and some great views.

This was the closest we had to a waterfall.

After hiking, it was time for donuts and cold coconut.

We couldn’t pass by the pineapple shack on the way back without stopping.

Even the backs of the buses are friendly.

Next up – snorkeling in Shark’s Cove – named because of its shape, not its residents. We saw lots of brightly colored fish and …

… can you spot the turtle!
Samuel got a selfie!

We wrapped up the evening with sushi in the local town, which was yummy.

Back at the house, it was fun to wind down watching Moana which portrays much of the Polynesian culture that we learned about at the Luau. We are all happy to scream out “chi hu” to express our pleasure. However, once again we were tired so couldn’t finish the movie. Until tomorrow!
